Ashaway Extends Popular MicroPower(r) Badminton String Line With New XL Model -- Tournament gauge string features thinner construction, exceptional power and durability Ashaway, RI -- Ashaway Racket Strings has introduced an extension to their popular MicroPower(r) badminton string line. MicroPower XL was designed for players looking for a thin, playable string with more power and durability. The new XL string's high-tenacity microfilament construction provides these characteristics, and can stand up to the demands of tournament playing conditions. Ashaway's proprietary manufacturing process combines three thousand microfilaments into one highly oriented core. The core is encapsulated in a densely braided microfilament wear layer that is bound and coated with a polymer resin for extended string life and easy stringing. This unique construction prevents shifting and tension loss even when strung at tournament tensions, making MicroPower XL an ideal choice for top professional and advanced amateur players. This new, 21 Light (.73 mm) tournament gauge string from Ashaway offers exceptional power and durability while measuring 10% thinner than standard models. MicroPower XL's streamlined design causes less wind resistance, allowing the shuttle to be hit harder and faster, and provides more power by amplifying the "trampoline effect." Ashaway’s MicroPower XL badminton string is available in 33 ft (10 M) sets and 660 ft (200 M) reels. Recommended stringing tension is up to 30 lbs.
