Ashaway Introduces PowerGut(R) 65 and 66, Two New Strings for Badminton -- New PowerGut strings utilize Power Filament Technology to increase power, durability, playability and control Ashaway, RI -- Ashaway Racket Strings has announced two new strings for badminton players, PowerGut 65 and PowerGut 66. Both strings utilize Ashaway's patented Power Filament Technology, or PFT(tm), to create a unique filament surface layer that reduces string movement and increases durability. Combined with Ashaway's microfilament core, PowerGut 65 and 66 are each optimized to enhance playability and control at all string tensions. "Power Filament Technology is a significant advance in string technology for badminton that will allow players to push their game to the limit," said Steve Crandall, Ashaway's VP of Marketing. " PFT creates an entirely new surface element in the jacket of these PowerGut strings by incorporating a proprietary power filament. This increases shuttle control and playability, and optimizes power. And because the mains and crosses 'lock in,' PFT provides much better stability at high tension and significantly increases string durability." At 0.70 mm, PowerGut 65 is the heavier of the two strings and is optimized for durability. PowerGut 66 measures in at 0.66 mm and is optimized for enhanced playability. Both are built on Ashaway's legendary microfilament core which contains thousands of microfilaments to provide tremendous elasticity, power and tension stability inside the string. They are available in 10 m sets and 200 m reels, and in power green and power orange as well as exciting new neon orange and neon green colors. Said Crandall, "We believe our new PowerGut strings will provide players with the thinnest, toughest, and most explosive badminton strings ever."
