Ashaway Racket Strings, Jack Huczek Renew Sponsorship Agreement -- Top IRT Ranked Player and World Champion Begins Second Decade with Ashaway String Ashaway, RI -- Ashaway Racket Strings has announced the renewal of its longstanding sponsorship agreement with World Champion racquetball player Jack Huczek. The deal will take Huczek, who has been using Ashaway string since early in his career, into his second decade as an Ashaway Racket Strings sponsored player. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. "We're very proud of our long affiliation with Jack," said Steve Crandall, Vice President of Ashaway Racket Strings, "and we're very pleased that he continues to play and win with Ashaway strings and shoes. In addition to being an incredible player, Jack is an excellent role model and an inspiration to younger players. We're delighted to team with him." In a career that flourished early and continues to blossom, Jack Huczek has propelled himself from being the most dominating junior player in racquetball history, to being a contender for the number one spot on the IRT. Known for his hard work ethic and extreme fitness level, Jack finished #2 on the IRT tour for the 05/06 season, and in August 2006 won the Men's Singles World Championship in the Dominican Republic. Known as a counter punch player, Jack likes to take advantage of any mistake his opponents may make on the court. To do this effectively, he has to have maximum control over the ball. "I play with a 16-gauge string--Ashaway's SuperKill® II--which gives me more control than a thinner string, and I tighten up the tension as well," he explained. "I know I can rely on Ashaway string, which gives me the confidence to capitalize on those opportunities." Ashaway SuperKill II is constructed of a nylon polymer monofilament core covered by an abrasion resistant wear layer, and is noted for its excellent resiliency, durability and resistance to abrasion. The SuperKill family of high performance racquetball strings also includes SuperKill 17, a 17-gauge version offering added playability, and SuperKill XL, a nylon multifilament string with a braided jacket for enhanced spin and ball placement.
